A gift that doesn’t require wrapping
Many grandparents have a difficult time buying gifts for their grandchildren, and with so many gifts during celebrations, duplicates often occur. To avoid gift-giving troubles, Arthur and Linda asked their 10-year-old granddaughter, Renée, for her Christmas wish list.
Instead of providing a list of toys or books, Renée requested a donation be made on her behalf to the Library. An avid reader, Renée didn’t want her grandparents to give her books that she might only read once. She liked the idea of making a donation so that the Library could purchase more books that she and other readers could enjoy.
Renée’s gift supported the purchase of a number of Young Adult books at Louise Riley Library and undoubtedly will be loved and appreciated by many young readers. Thank you, Renée, for showing us the true spirit of the holidays!
