Year in Review

With $7.4 million raised, this was the year we broke the record for funds raised annually for a Canadian library.

Early Learning:

White Paper

The Calgary Public Library is our city’s largest provider of free, high quality early learning support and annually welcomes more than 500,000 children under five and their parents across its network of community libraries. To support Calgary’s children and families, we have created a transformative model for early childhood learning.

Annie Davidson Opera:

Case Study

The Annie Davidson Opera recognizes a little-known change agent in Calgary’s history. This contemporary opera was created from a partnership between the Calgary Public Library and Cowtown Opera, with support from the Rozsa Foundation, the Calgary Foundation and Friends of the Library. The opera celebrates Annie Davidson’s life and inspires families and individuals to discover their “inner Annie” and create meaningful change within their communities.

Economic Prosperity:

White Paper

We examine five economic development priority areas and how the Library supports them to ensure our city’s long term competitiveness.

Sun Life Financial Arts+Culture Pass:

Case Study

The Sun Life Financial Arts + Culture Pass enhances cultural vibrancy in Calgary by enabling under-represented audiences to participate in artistic and cultural events. Over the past four years, the initiative has received an overwhelming response from Calgarians and has added new arts and culture partners every year. Sun Life Financial and the Calgary Public Library are increasing the quality of life of many Calgarians who otherwise would not be able to afford arts and culture tickets—opening up a new world of experiences.
